This cooking class has everything ! Chef Leez is funny, charming and a very good teacher. She takes time to explain and if you have special requests.......she will put it in the programm. After some experience already in Thai cooking I really wanted to learn to cook my noodles better and learn how to make a very good sweet and sour sauce and the Kanom Thuey ( a dessert). I learned everything !!
Don't eat much before the class.........everything you cook ........you eat it. I recommend Chef Leez for everybody who wants to learn Thai cooking.

Chef LeeZ Student Review #306 " A Chef's Dream" .. Still making review records!

5 of 5 starsReviewed February 23, 2014 NEW
The class was a much anticipated element of our Bangkok visit and my foodie husband enrolled well in advance. Since he does ALL the cooking I planned to go along to take pictures. We were told on arrival that only enrolled students could attend, so I was signed up, a little trepidatious about what would be required of me. In the end I had a fantastic time, as Chef Lee herself absorbed my part in a kindly subtle way. So if this sounds familiar to anyone reading this, fear not and do not miss the class. First of all, if for any reason this renown chef should choose to stop teaching her very delicious Thai cuisine, I am certain that she would have great success as a stand-up comedian. Laughter was certainly a spice of the day. We joined an international group of three other couples and set off on a field trip to the nearby market, making a brief stop to wonder at the monitor lizards sunning in the canal along the way. Without our guide we would never have guessed what emerged when we entered a narrow alley. A warren of stalls, each specializing in a product Chef Lee narrated (e.g., how the Taiwanese invented the coconut shredder for the essential Thai ingredient, what ingredient was a good or bad choice, how the cats came to enjoy preferential treatment after a flood that miraculously spared the market they frequented, and many instances of products that would never be sanctioned in a Western culture but are essential to the preparation of authentic Thai cuisine and more). The butcher’s stall was remarkable with production ongoing. Back to the school where an incredibly delicious meal was demonstrated, produced and enjoyed, in part due to the choreography of the staff who enhanced the convivial experience. Our menu of the day included the following: chili paste (hot) on toast, both clear an creamy chicken soup, pad Thai with shrimp, green and massaman curry (a name that evolved from the original Muslim adjective), papaya in a spicy vinegar preparation, polished off with mango and sticky rice. We had a phenomenal meal and a truly memorable day. For a final observation, I was curious about the roll of toilet paper at each station before we began to eat, but it was soon obvious it was there to capture the Thai food tears we all happily shed in the process.

Chef LeeZ review #305 "Great Cooking Class"

I took a class with Chef Leez on Jan. 13th, during the protests in Bangkok. This resulted in me being the only one taking the course... I was a bit apprehensive because I wanted a social experience. But the lesson was even more useful because I was the only one she was teaching. She has very knowledgeable, always giving fun details and answering any questions I had (and I had a lot- about culture, food, etc). The market trip was really cool, you couldn't have this experience on your own.
I think people are a bit wary of the quality because the location isn't the nicest- but you pay a bit less for this reason, and the teaching and food quality is probably just as good as a fancy cooking school.
Would definitely take this course again- it emphasized good food and helped me to understand thai culture. Chef Leez was very professional. She even added my tip to her charity for street children.

Chef LeeZ Review # 304 Thai Cooking School of the culinary arts "Great Experience"

Great experience

5 of 5 starsReviewed February 11, 2014 NEW
Hi,
Myself and my girlfriend visited Chef Leez towards the end of our South East Asian trip and absolutely loved it. The recipies, the ingredients, the atmosphere and the instruction – all quality. Highly recommended (and about 45 seconds from our hotel).
A couple of points that specifically made this course stand out for us were:
- The trip to the market. We had been on another cooking class in Vietnam and the trip to the market seemed a little pointless. We just walked around while the ‘guide’ picked out all the produce with little additional information. In the Thai course we were given loads of info on Thai eating habits, quality of the produce, what to look for and more. Very interesting.
- Very fresh. All produce was fresh and good quality with an emphasis on reducing reliance on packaged goods where possible.
All in all a great experience and of course, the recipes can now take their place in our kitchen.

Chef LeeZ Thai Cooking School in Bangkok review #303 "Outstanding" T A # 1 school since 2011!

Outstanding”

My wife and I attended Chef Leez's classes today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Her passion, knowledge, sense of humour and ability to instruct so many things is nothing short of outstanding. There may have been an element of reluctance attending this class due to the so called civil unrest, it was none existent.
We started the classes with a trip to the market with Chef Leez, this is an education in itself, she loves to pass on her knowledge of all ingredients and ensures only the freshest and healthiest are selected, there is no MSG or jar stored pastes used here, everything is fresh.
The meals made today were mouth watering, I don't think I'll ever be able to visit a Thai restaurant again and expect to sample food of the same standard I had the honour to experience today, it was simply delicious.
Thank you Chef Leez, I will try my utmost to replicate what you taught us today.

Chef LeeZ Culinary Arts Cooking School in Bangkok Review #301 "An Unexpected Highlight!"

Chef LeeZ culinary arts Thai Cooking School Class in Bangkok Review # 301!

Family in Group Class
Kids Can Cook Too!
5 of 5 starsReviewed 5 February 2014 NEW

On a 4 week Far East trip, my girlfriend and I were in Bangkok for a couple of days between planned excursions. Wandering what to do, we looked at Tripadvisor (of course) and came across Chef Leez Cooking School.
We thought it might be a nice experience and it would kill some time. Well we contacted the school and made a booking. They were very helpful and accomodating (the class was already nearly full).
We were so glad that they could fit us in. It turned out to be such a highlight on our trip. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
I can't cook. Just a slice of toast is a culinary challenge for me. My girlfriend is a good cook. The course catered for all the skill levels present. I produced the most amazing Tom Yum Gung soup. I'll never forget it.
Its a wonderful experience that starts in the market where Chef Leez goes through all the do's and dont's of buying whichever produce. Then back to the kitchen to prepare the most amazing food, so fresh and light and tasty.
Take your camera. There are lots of opportunities to photograph some great looking dishes (which you made).
If you are like me and refuse to use a taxi, be warned. You can get lost as we did. We took the water taxi from Ratchprarop Street to its end. From there its a walk keeping the canal on your left shoulder.
Don't keep it on your left shoulder at your own peril.
Whichever way you get there, you must go. It's great.

Chef LeeZ 300th review in under 3 years! "Stands out from most cooking classes"

300 reviews in under 3 years. That's an average of 1 review every 3 days! It's more reviews than any other Thailand cooking school has collected in the same time period. Soon we have the largest number of reviews of all Thailand culinary arts Thai Cooking Schools. Isn't that right, students?

Chef Leez classes are outstanding!
She really wants to teach people about her culture through food and unlike other places who give half recipes she makes sure one is happy.
We had a misunderstanding on the dishes we wanted to cook so she made a last minute plan and arrange for extra dishes.
One gets to choose what one wants to learn to cook and its not only about the cooking but also going to a local market and understanding the different qualities of ingredients.

The biggest proof of how amazing the class is in the food we cooked, each and every single dish was not only amazing but the best thai food we had while in bangkok.
After eating here its painful to eat in any restaurant of koh san road.

Even if you arent too much into cooking, if you like food go cook so you can eat

Also after being in the class they keep in touch and send you additional recipes and tips

Chef LeeZ Student review # 297 "Thank Goodness for Chef LeeZ!"

“Thank Goodness for Chef LeeZ!”
5 of 5 starsReviewed February 3, 2014 NEW
Just two days after my husband and I returned from our honeymoon in Thailand, we were already craving real Thai food. Thank goodness for Chef LeeZ's class! Because of Chef LeeZ's class I was able to confidently go into a local Thai market and successfully make some Tom Yam soup and Pad Thai (both mai pet!), complete with shrimp "ketchup"! Thank you for such a wonderfully fun and delicious class!
Both my husband and I highly recommend this class to anyone going to Bangkok - it will be the highlight of your trip!

Chef LeeZ student review # 296 "mmmh Best activity in Bangkok"

5 of 5 starsReviewed 2 February 2014 NEW via mobile

It was just so great - we were avery small, fun group, and chef lee is just great, so much fun! We learned an incredible amount of valuable information. I can only recommend this to everyone, even if you are a beginner or experienced cook. Chef lee was very flexible, when we asked her to show us how to do phad kra pao, she was delighted to do so.
We hope that she will continue with her school for many more years and that we will have the opportunity to come back again for a course in the future.

Chef LeeZ Trip Advisor Review # 295 "Wonderful Experience"

5 of 5 starsReviewed February 1, 2014 NEW

There's a lot of good reviews of Chef LeeZ's cooking course on TA. Add one more to the list. This one coming from, let me be honest, a non-starter in the kitchen. My wife and I took her course about a week ago. It was delightful - and delicious. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a lot of fun. It starts with a trip to a nearby market, which is interesting in itself. Chef Lee gave us a lot of information about local produce, spices, seafood. Most of it was positive, but she also told us which products weren't quality.
Back at the school, we prepared nine dishes (all were the best Thai food we have had in Thailand so far) in four hours. My wife does a lot of cooking and was unsure how much she'd really gain from taking the course, but she was pleasantly surprised that what Chef Leez had to offer went beyond merely following a recipe. An added bonus was that thanks to her recommendation, we now have a full set of quality cooking knives which we purchased in Bangkok. Take the course. You won't regret it!
