Chef LeeZ - T A Review # 291

5 of 5 starsReviewed January 7, 2014 NEW
My friend and I took a 2-day course on 12/24 and 12/25. Chef Lee was very professional and taught us tips/tricks of the culinary world. She's a stickler for quality ingredients and showed us what to look for and what not to look for (e.g., tricks vendors use to sell dried shrimp). I used one of her tips the next time I bought a snack from a street vendor (e.g., asked for freshly squeezed pomegranate juice instead of one already bottled - they add sugar to make the juices sweeter). She offers up substitutes for ingredients you may not be able to find in your home location. The class sizes are small enough for the chef to teach either variations or new dishes that are not on the curriculum. She's also supported by staff who help to ensure that you have a clean work space and right ingredients. Chef's English speaking ability is phenomenal. We were joined by a family one day and the kids (teens) really enjoyed the class. I highly recommend the cooking school for anyone. I consider myself a pretty good cook and I was able to learn not only how to make my favorite Thai dishes, but I also learned new cooking tips/tricks. I also compared prices for other cooking schools. The fees are very reasonable and worth what I learned at the school.
